The Portland Group were one of the first independent day care providers in the North East, who recognised the need to invest in Day Care facilities. The initial service was very much a “dip your toe” venture; however recent years have seen this experience develop into a thriving and expanding function of the group. We also provide the service to a younger user group with special needs and where individual programmes are developed for users with specific learning disabilities.

Our qualified staff provides education programmes enabling service users to achieve ASDAN/NVQ qualifications. We also provide day care facilities for the elderly who require support and social inclusion. The availability of transport services within the group assist these programmes which include IT skills, Horse riding & swimming etc. All external facilities have been sourced and arranged by our dedicated managers.

The services offered by Portland Day Care are found in the majority of homes operated by the group. The development of newer units will see the facilities being moved to strategic locations across the North of England. Newer units will provide facilities to ensure that Portland remains at the forefront of Day Care provision.
