What is Meningitis?
Is there any treatment?
There are some options open to us as patients.

I. Antibiotics are given to kill bacteria which may stop bacteria in the throat or back of the nose to stop spreading the disease.

2. Vaccines may be given to protect against meningitis.

3. Viruses cannot be combated with medication, it is suggested that good rest and TLC with a good intake of vitamins.

4. Fungal meningitis should be treated with anti-fungal therapy and the ap­propriate management.

What research is being done?
Research has suggested that not smoking reduces the risk of contracting meningitis in your family. As with all diseases are con­cerned there are extensive researches into new treatments, therapies, and drugs.
