Diet and nutrition are essential components of daily life, and one that is not overlooked at the
Portland Group.

We have specially designed menus in order to offer our service users all the nutritious benefits of a wide selection of food products. We may also provide dietary plans for different needs such as:

  • Medical ailments (eg: Diabetes)
  • Religious requirements
  • Cultural requirements
  • Age

In order to fulfil our aim to provide a 1st class service to all our service users, it is important that the quality of our staff meets the high standard set out by the company. Training is provided to ensure this quality service is delivered and it is our desire that all of our hospitality staff have all the essential requirements and extra relevant qualifications.

The Portland Group will also fully cater for our domiciliary care division allowing the company to be fully self-sufficient. Outside catering is also an option that The Portland Group seek to provide to our service users for occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries and other special occasions.

The most important factor is to make our service users feel at home and comfortable. We pride ourselves on our service and see it as the core value when delivering a holistic care approach in order to make The Portland experience is one of outstanding quality.

Nutrition
Our nutritionist department have over 11 years experience of working to the National standards guidelines. Individual’s nutritional needs are analysed and menus can be provided on a one to one, client specific basis. Standard menus for all of our properties meet the national standard guidelines for all dietry requirements.

Our Company Dietician and Nutritionist
The latest addition to the Portland Group team is the company dietician and nutritionist who is working across all of our sites to add value to our current nutritional standards.

A state registered dietician, with eleven year’s experience within various sections of the North of England’s NHS Primary Care Trusts. Our main aim for this service is to ensure our menus are nutritionally balanced, providing customers with a choice, incorporating a high quality diet in line with approved standards.

Following the introduction of the wider choice menu. We have been focusing upon supporting the staff teams in each unit to ensure that clients are nutritionally screened and any potential issues are quickly and correctly addressed.
