Brancepeth Court is a dual registered 49 bedded home for older people situated in Willington County Durham and is in walking distance of bus routes to Crook, Durham and Bishop Auckland. The home is registered for residents of age 65 years and above, convalescents for 55 years and over, palliative care 55 years and over and older physically disabled.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and are comfortably carpeted and furnished. They have a T.V. socket, a smoke detector and are large enough for wheelchairs or hoists. There is ample room for personal furniture and photographs. A 24-hour emergency call system is in operation.

A choice of meals is offered daily along with mid morning and afternoon tea or coffee.

Visiting is as unrestricted as possible. A newsletter provides residents, relatives and friends with information about the home, proposed trips, entertainment etc and any other in-house stories of interest.

Confidentiality is the utmost principle of the Portland Care Group. All personal records are kept in locked files.
A two monthly meeting ‘Partnership In Care’ with relatives is held where discussions re progress or suggestions can be carried forward. A resident’s forum is held on a monthly basis to allow residents a chance to air their views and be a voice within the home.

There is a hairdresser on site and facilities such as chiropody are easily available. The activities co-ordinaters organise various trips, i.e. the Metro Centre and the seaside, during the daytime and trips to the theatre on an evening. In house activities are also enjoyed.
