Redworth House can accommodate 51 EMI clients in a nursing/residential capacity. It has a 6 bed respite care unit to meet the needs of clients who have a learning disability and require regular respite care. Permanent care can also be facilitated.It is situated in the village of Shildon in County Durham. The home has its own grounds, has pleasant lawned areas and a patio is being developed which is hoped will be used for barbecues in the summer evenings. Local bus routes are within walking distance. Adjacent to Redworth House is Redworth House Day Centre which can meet the needs of 35 clients who have day care requirements. Redworth was built in 2004 and is furnished to a very high standard. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and are comfortably carpeted and furnished.

A choice of meals is offered daily plus staggered breakfast. Special diets are catered for on request. Mid morning and afternoon tea and coffee are served in the lounges and evening tea is selected from the sweet trolley in the lounge/dining room.

Facilities such as hairdressing, weekly, and chiropody, every three months, are readily available. Regular social evenings and outings are arranged. In the summer there will be trips to seaside resorts and in the winter, shopping trips to places like the Metro Centre. The county library service will provide an excellent selection of large print books.

Redworth is forging strong links with the community; it is well supported by the various church visitors, the local schools and community centre.
