The Portland Group prides itself on the high standard of training and development all staff receive.

To facilitate this, the Training and Development Department offers personalised training that meets the needs of the individual, job role and employers requirements. The training is designed to provide exciting opportunities for individuals to learn and develop skills to enhance performance and provide a springboard for career opportunities. The Portland Group has an excellent track record of internal promotions with staff supported and encouraged to look to their future within the group.

The Training and Development department provides a number of high quality in-house programmes and works in partnership with external providers who offer a range of training to meet specific needs.

The Portland Group have a team of dedicated trainers who are able to provide mandatory training as well as specific training for the various disciplines. The training takes place on site where the candidate works so that specific issues can be explored within the environment where care takes place. A number of well equipped training rooms are available which provide an ideal environment for learning to take place and support is also given by trained mentors on the units.

Every member of staff is able to promote their skills in order for them to fulfil their own careers

  • Placement specific experience throughout one of our properties
